Covers that Look Great Longer

My customer markets team sports uniforms through a collection of annual catalogs. A sharp looking cover helps create the prestige impression that sells uniforms. Catalogs get a lot of handling by coaches and administrators, so, scuff resistance is also very important. Previously, catalogs had been printed 4 color process with a clear varnish.

We recommended changing the cover to a high gloss UV coating over conventional 4 color process. This improvement resulted in a small cost increase and a very large increase in durability and appeal.

Our Heidelberg XL-105 press can apply an ultra smooth, high gloss coating in line. And, the UV coating makes a very tough finish, one that looks great a long time.

UV technology is powerful and versatile. Sometimes a little enhancement is all that’s needed to make a champion product. For every situation, I am glad to help the customer pick their best option.
